A Florida soccer brand with a community-first mission is setting up shop in the Lowcountry.
Soccer 5, operator of small-sided soccer centers across Florida, is bringing its corporate headquarters to North Charleston, marking its first move beyond the Sunshine State.
The new facility — opening this December at 3297 Pacific Avenue — will feature a small-sided indoor field, with outdoor fields coming in a later phase.
From Florida roots to Charleston turf
Soccer 5 already runs 30 fields across six parks in Florida and plans to reach 35 by year’s end. Now, the company is betting on Charleston’s energy, population growth, and deep love for sports.
“Charleston represents an incredible opportunity for Soccer 5,” said Scott Georgeson, the company’s president, to Charleston Regional Business Journal. “The region’s vibrant community, passionate sports culture, and tremendous growth made it the perfect location to serve the entire Charleston area.”
The model is simple and social — high-quality fields that welcome everyone, from youth players to adults chasing a midweek game.
Backed and ready to grow
The expansion follows an equity partnership with Wonder Franchises, a firm known for scaling multi-site businesses. The move positions Soccer 5 to grow faster while keeping its neighborhood feel intact.
Why North Charleston?
According to David Newman, senior vice president at eXp Commercial, the site hits the sweet spot for accessibility and potential.
“This location is ideal from every logistical standpoint,” Newman said. “The proximity to I-26, I-526, and major travel corridors provide exceptional accessibility for the entire region. This was a multi-year process to identify the perfect site.”
A new kind of local field
Soccer 5’s arrival comes as small-sided soccer surges in popularity across the U.S. — more space to play, fewer players per team, and more fun for all ages.
For Charleston, it’s more than a new facility. It’s a new way to play — a place where families, friends, and neighbors can connect on the pitch.
Come December, when that first ball hits turf, North Charleston will officially join the Soccer 5 map — and another corner of the Lowcountry will have a brand-new place to play.
