I’m a bona fide sweets fanatic. Donuts and cake are top of my list, then cookies and pie and ice cream. Not necessarily in that order.

But I have 3 ladies in my life who LOVE ice cream.

The best place to get it anywhere in Charleston is on Beaufain Street downtown at Off-Track Ice Cream.

Word came this week that Two Bit Club, a Vietnamese-inspired restaurant in Hotel Richemont downtown, will close.

It was open less than a year. The concept was conceived by Indigo Road Hospitality, a super-experienced Charleston-based restaurant group that owns multiple restaurants here in town and in the Southeast.

These include Mercantile & Mash, O-Ku, Indaco and Brasserie Banque.

Kim and I went once. We were underwhelmed by the food and experience and didn’t go back.

The owner, Anthony Dibernardo, confirmed it in a Facebook group yesterday.

The good news for him is he's buying the land next to Wild Olive.

Not-so-great-news for us? It'll be a while before we see him open there. Approvals, development, and construction simply take a while.
